Prizm Books is our imprint for young adult GLBT fiction. Prizm books will be full novels, 40,000 to 70,000 words in length, and should feature gay and lesbian teens and young adults.

We are actively seeking authors who can write exciting stories for young adult readers, ages thirteen to twenty-one. Prizm is looking for character driven stories with solid plots and a good grasp of the life of a gay or lesbian teen. Since these books are for the YA market, we ask that they be non-explicit, and feature happy endings, as far as the plot will allow.

The age group for Prizm YA novels will range from young teens to early twenties.
While stories dealing with gay youth coming out are perfectly fine, we have readers asking for more novels featuring gay characters dealing with other everyday problems faced by teens and young adults, whether historical, contemporary or science fiction/fantasy. We need mystery and series titles, as well.

Prizm books are released quarterly, and as they are aimed at library and bookstore markets, all Prizm books will release in paperback. If released in e-book, electronic editions of Prizm books will pay 35% of the cover price on all Torquere/Prizm site sales, and 25% cover price on all distributor sales. The paperback royalties will pay 8% of the cover price on all sales.

Please query Prizm submissions to Shawn Clements at saclements@torquerepress.com with the first three chapters of your novel, a brief synopsis and a cover letter. The cover letter should include your full contact information and a brief description of what age group your book is aimed at, at the very least.
